Procedure

  1. Setup the virtual machine.
  2. Select/Choose the required hardware for your machine.
  3. If you don’t have an existing virtual hard disk then you have to  create one. Select Create a virtual hard disk option.
  4. Select Virtual Disk Image option
  5. Select Dynamically Allocated which is very optimal for users who are short on storage
  6. Now choose the disk size according to your usage
  7. After Finishing with the configuration, a Virtual Machine with the given name should be available in the menu
  8. Now go to Settings
  9. Click on storage and then click on Empty then click on the small disk icon which is highlighted with yellow colour.
  10. After doing that click on chose file option and mount/select the iso file which you had downloaded earlier. It should look like this
  11. Now click on network. Over here you will see that by default network adapter is attached to NAT. We are supposed to change this setting to Bridge Adapter.
  12. After doing that go to windows setting in the Start Bar -> Network & internet -> Change Adapter Options. A window like this will open
  13. Once you navigated to this location follow the given steps (This is very important).
You must check through which mode are you connected to the internet that is through WiFi or Ethernet
Now if you are connected via WiFi then you must look at which adapter is your device using to connect to the Internet
    Do the same for Ethernet
  14. Now come back to the virtual box and in the dropdown select the appropriate adapter. Then press OK button. Since I’m using Ethernet, I’ve selected Realtek.
  15. Now that we are done with the configuration part it’s time to boot up the machine. Click on the Start Button
